Another attraction you'll visit in Aswan is the Aswan High Dam in Aswan. This earthen dam is located at the border between Egypt and Sudan, and it's fed by the Nile River, creating Lake Nasser. Construction began in 1960 and was completed in 1968, with the dam being formally opened in 1971.
You'll also have the opportunity to visit the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan. Aswan was known for its high-quality granite that was used to create sculptures and adorn temples, pyramids, and obelisks in ancient Egypt.
